Dr. Robyn Welk-Richards and her associates vulnerably step into the arena every day with their clients. For without intention and grit, there can be no growth nor progress made. We care deeply for our clients and desire to partner with them on the journey up their own mountain of recovery.
It is our honor to walk beside you, or behind you, as you pave your path and find your footing at the top of the mountain, saluting the sun and announcing loudly “I have arrived. I am free. My recovery is mine to have!”
Dr. Robyn invites her team members to lean passionately into their work, and to know their strengths and specialty (as well as their weaknesses) as a clinician. DWRWPS can expertly provide clinical therapy to young humans, ages 5 and up, through all stages of life. Evaluation, Assessment and Treatment for an Eating Disorder
Dr. Robyn Welk-Richards has over 18 years of clinical experience and expertise in the treatment of eating disorders. She has not only worked in the clinical practice setting but has also performed as a leader and supervisor at national treatment organizations. In 2019, Dr. Robyn established her own outpatient practice in Elm Grove, WI founded upon the values of Integrity, Authenticity, Creativity, Peace, Mindfulness, and Loving Kindness. These values not only undergird the structure of her organization, but more importantly how she approaches her clinical treatment and care for clients.
At DRWRPS, we offer comprehensive evaluative assessments for human beings battling eating disorders, along the spectrum of severity, in partnership with treating co-occurring emotional and mental health struggles. As well, we are experts in holding space for our clients as they conquer their fears, reconnect with their bodies, and re-establish a healthy relationship with food. We can provide a myriad of therapeutic interventions including and not limited to, individual, family and group psychotherapy; experiential meal challenges – in and outside of the physical office; in-home, a la carte services; creative expression therapeutic interventions; as well as body image reality testing exposures.
It is Dr. Robyn’s philosophy that to truly find recovery and stand at the top of one’s own mountain, it is imperative to develop a life that is quality-filled. Through the therapeutic process at DRWRPS, we focus heavily on improving one’s quality of life so that the need to hold on to the eating disorder dissipates. Dr. Robyn believes that an eating disorder, though uninvited, has secured a spot in a human beings’ mind and is serving a purpose. Although the purpose of this illness is peppered with maleficence and may be unknown, it is important for each human to gain insight through their therapeutic journey and replace this chatter in their mind with soulful purpose. Full recovery is possible and attainable for all humans, and Dr. Robyn considers it an honor to be witness to any part of a person’s journey.
